Australian Cricket Team Signed WSC Mini Bat – c.1986/87 | 13 Autographs | Border, Waugh, Jones & More

Australian Cricket Team Signed WSC Mini Bat – c.1986/87 | 13 Player Autographs

An excellent piece of Australian cricket memorabilia from the Allan Border era: an original WSC-branded souvenir miniature cricket bat carrying 13 handwritten signatures attributed to members of the Australian international squad from approximately the 1986/87 season. The reverse of the bat retains the distinctive red-ball/black-wicket WSC logo. WSC branding originated with Kerry Packer’s World Series Cricket and continued to be used on Australian one-day cricket merchandise afterwards, so the logo identifies the bat’s WSC merchandising connection but is not used by itself to date the signatures.

Signatures Identified (top to bottom)

• Allan Border
• Geoff Marsh
• Tim Zoehrer
• Greg Ritchie
• Dean Jones
• Steve Waugh
• Dirk Wellham
• Peter Taylor
• Bruce Reid
• Greg Matthews
• Geoff Lawson
• Simon Davis
• Simon O’Donnell

Historical Context

This is a particularly appealing group from an important rebuilding period in Australian cricket. Border was captain, while players including Dean Jones, Steve Waugh and Geoff Marsh would become central to Australia’s 1987 World Cup-winning side later that year. The autograph group strongly supports a c.1986/87 signing date.

Condition

• Excellent physical condition for its age
• Signatures display well across the face — with the exception of Geoff Lawson’s, which is legible but faded
• Autographs in varying ballpoint inks, consistent with individual hand signing
• Please review all photos carefully — they form part of the description

Authentication Note

No third-party certificate or formal autograph authentication accompanies the bat. Player identities are attributed from the visible signatures and period squad evidence. The item is offered exactly as photographed, and buyers are encouraged to assess the autographs themselves.
