Vintage Japanese Anthropomorphic Bird Ceramics Trio c.1950s–60s

A wonderfully eccentric group of genuine vintage Japanese anthropomorphic bird ceramics, dating approximately to the 1950s–60s. The trio includes two characterful chick-shaped egg cups (yellow and green) and a larger lidded novelty jar with an extraordinary sculptural bird handle. All three pieces are marked JAPAN and share the pastel glazing, hand-painted facial details and whimsical anthropomorphic styling associated with mid-century Japanese export ceramics.

Not represented as an original factory set — collected together for their matching period, country of origin and visual style. A fantastic display group for collectors of mid-century Japanese export pottery, anthropomorphic ceramics, kitsch kitchenware and kawaii vintage objects.
